A delicious and comforting meal made with tender pot roast and flavorful French onion soup.

  • 3 pounds pot roast
  • 2 cups French onion soup
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Season the pot roast with salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil and brown the roast on all sides.
  3. Add the sliced onions and garlic to the bottom of the slow cooker.
  4. Place the browned pot roast on top of the onions.
  5. In a bowl, mix French onion soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme; pour over the roast.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
  7. Once cooked, shred the meat and serve with onions and juice.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add mushrooms or carrots.
  • Serve with crusty bread to soak up the juices.
